[UPDATE] Whispers of the Old Gods has launched, and you can start earning your free card packs right now. The original story follows:
Hearthstone players will have a chance to get 13 free card packs and a legendary C'Thun card when the new expansion, Whispers of the Old Gods, releases next week.
The news was announced during the Whispers of the Old Gods' livestream, and Reddit user AdamNW posted how players can get their free cards to theGames subreddit.
All you have to do to start collecting your free cards is log in during the expansion's release event next week, but you will need to win more than a handful of matches to collect all 13 packs.
You can see the full list of what you need to do below:
- Three packs - Log in during the expansion's first week
- Legendary C'Thun and two buff cards - Log in during the expansion's first week
- Five packs - Win two games in Hearthstone's new "Standard" format
- Five more packs - Win seven more games in the new "Standard" format
If you haven't seen all of the cards coming in Whispers of the Old Gods, then you can check out all 134 cards right here. Players can prepurchase a 50-card pack right now for $50 and open it when the expansion releases on April 26.
A bunch of Hearthstone cards will undergo significant changes next week.
